Description
Vex 4 keeps the tight platforming of its predecessor and adds more variety to the hazards. Trampolines, moving saw blades, swimming sections and timed mechanisms all appear, and the acts run longer than in Vex 3.
The difficulty still comes from precision rather than punishment. Checkpoints are generous and restarting is immediate, so the game expects you to fail repeatedly while learning the exact timing each section wants.
This entry also introduced a level editor, letting players build and share their own courses. It turned the game from a fixed set of stages into something with a much longer tail.
